  The understanding of the bodies mechanics and movements during skiing /snowboarding is crucial to becoming a good instructor. The ease in which an instructor can breakdown and explain these movements to teach a guest how to improve their skiing/snowboarding is what makes an instructor great.

  Every successful instructor has the skills to fulfil and understand the guest’s goals completely.

  Using the correct language and communication style is crucial in delivering a seamless lesson, this will differ between guests, so a great instructor will adapt to fit exactly what that particular guest needs to gain the most from the lesson.

Becoming a
truly valuable instructor

A good instructor might be able to teach you a thing or two about how to improve your skiing/snowboarding skills, but what makes an instructor go from good to great is the service they offer to give their guest a truly outstanding experience. Great instructors are not only able to deliver a lesson to improve a guest’s skiing/snowboarding skills, but to give them the full package – offering an outstanding level of hospitality to our guests that come to ski/snowboard with us from all over the world.

This experience should extend to both on and off snow and begins with a smile over a morning coffee and ends with a friendly wave good-bye when you drop them to their door at the end of a fantastic day. Our goal is to develop rookie instructors who may already be good, into great ones with world-class skills to deliver amazing service to their guests, wherever they are in the world! The skills you will learn in this program will allow you to create a long-lasting, satisfying career and turn you into a pro in the snow sports industry.

   You will be assessed on above 4 skills by our top trainers.

2. Step 2

   Personalise
   Program

   We will personalise your program based on the step 1 assessment and start hands-on training.

3. Step 3

   Periodic
   Review

   Every 2 to 4 weeks we will review your training, skill acquisition and personal feedback with you and your trainer so we can make adjustments to best fit your own pace of learning.

4. Step 4

   Post-Training
   Support

   Your time to shine. Choose your own path wether heading to New Zealand for instructor exams, we promise to give you the best support we have with our world calss trainers.

1. FAR EAST ACADEMY

   Winter

   Get trained by some of the industry’s best instructors! Our highly experienced trainers in Niseko will offer you the opportunity to shadow their lessons, give you tips along the way and eventually support you in delivering your very own lesson with our supervision and support the whole way.

2. QUALIFICATION
   ACQUISITION

   Summer

   After completing your training here in Niseko, you will travel to New Zealand during their winter season (sometime between June-October) to complete your NZSIA qualification. The NZ certification is considered one of the best and is highly recognised internationally, so you shouldn’t have any problems picking up a job anywhere in the world!

3. EMPLOYMENT
   SUPPORT

   Autumn

   To support you in finding your first ski/snowboard instructing job, we will provide you with an effective reference letter, personal recommendations and offer you our connections to some of the best ski/snowboard schools around the world.

4. GRADUATION

   Next Winter

   After you complete your training, gain your qualification as a qualified ski/snowboard instructor and are successfully hired by a snow sports school, you have graduated our academy program! You are now ready to begin an amazing career, with a fantastic set of skills ready to go out there and live your dreams.
