Ryosuke hails from Shiga, home to Japan’s largest lake, where his childhood was devoted to chasing footballs than carving turns in the snow. In fact, his only skiing experience as a youngster was a two-day school trip.

A fork stuck in the road was found at the age of 28, he made a rather bold decision: he would take up skiing… and move to Niigata to learn it in its mecca. And a chance encounter with Yusuke on YouTube opened the door, and the rest, as they say, is history. Ryosuke soon found himself on the path to becoming a ski instructor.

Since then, he’s earned instructor qualifications in New Zealand and Austria, begin carving a career. Having started skiing as an adult himself, Ryosuke truly understands both the nerves and the thrills that learners face and he is always ready to guide every skier with patience, encouragement, and the tips he wished he’d known at 28.
