Paula was born in Latvia - a small country rich in culture and folklore in the northeast of Europe.
Just like in a popular Latvian folk tale, where the hero hikes a golden hill in search of happiness, Paula’s own journey began by traveling the world, hiking hills only to ride them down in search of untouched snow.

After working in Latvia, Austria, New Zealand, and Australia, she decided to take her story further East to explore Japan’s golden hill. And yes - Japow in Niseko really is better than gold. That’s why Paula is now spending her third winter here, sharing with others what makes this place so special.

Through snowsports lessons with Paula, you’ll improve your technique, gain confidence both on and off-piste, and discover Niseko’s best coffee spots along the way. Kids love her lessons too - they’re fun, relaxed, and full of creative games that turn into exciting challenges.

Off the snow, Paula finds joy working at festivals and other cultural projects, joining run clubs, visiting art galleries, hiking, or watching the sunrise from her SUP in the middle of a quiet river.
